Habs Win Fourth in a Row; 3-1 over Buffalo

The Montreal Canadiens moved up in the standings with their fourth win in a row, a convincing 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Andrei Markov led the Habs with three assists, while David Desharnais had a goal and an assist. The kids Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher also scored.

Rams down Gaels in final set

Ryerson’s men’s volleyball team returned home after three weeks on the road to beat the Queen’s Gaels 3-2 (25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 17-25, 18-16) Friday night at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.

Milos Raonic, George Stroumboulopoulos at MAC

Tennis star Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., held the second annual Raonic Race for Kids at the Mattamy Athletic Centre Tuesday night. The event raised $120,000 for Raonic’s charity, the Milos Raonic Foundation and Tennis Canada’s Let’s Make Tennis Matter for Kids Campaign.

Rams hammered by Lancers

Ryerson’s women’s basketball team were pummeled 78-53 as the Windsor Lancers Friday night at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (MAC). Windsor (4-1), who is ranked second in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS), opened the game with an 18-4 run in the first five minutes and never looked back.

Can the Leafs Keep it Up All Year?

Anyone who watched Saturday’s game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks saw the Leafs get widely out shot and out played all night long. Vancouver had the first 11 shots in the game and Toronto didn’t get their first shot until over eight minutes in.

Crawley stars in Rams loss to Windsor

Emma Crawley stood on her head, but the Ryerson Rams (2-5-0) still fell 3-1 to the Windsor Lancers (4-3-1) Friday night at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Crawley stopped 36 shots, including 16 in the second, while her counterpart Ingrid Sandven turned aside 15.
