Students and staff at École Saint-Jean-Baptiste welcomed a new addition to their school last Tuesday, one that can save lives.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Essex-Windsor EMS installed an automated external defibrillator (AED) at the school. All 15 schools in the CSC Providence school board are now equipped with the device.
“Sometimes the ambulance takes a little bit of time, especially if they are already out on a call, so to have the defibrillator on site can save lives,” vice-principal Lise Pipitone said.
