Former Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher LaTroy Hawkins has been hired as a special assistant by the Minnesota Twins.

Hawkins came to Toronto from the Colorado Rockies at the 2015 MLB trade deadline along with Troy Tulowitzki. He retired after the 2015 season. With the Blue Jays, the soon-to-be-44 right-hander pitched 16.1 innings with a 2.76 ERA and 14 strikeouts.
