Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker said that Jose Bautista will be the team’s everyday third baseman when he gets called up from a minor-league assignment.

“He’s going to play third when he comes up,” Snitker said according to Gabriel Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “He’s in good shape. That’d be what happens.”

Ryan Flaherty is currently playing third base for the Braves. Although he’s leading the National League with a .362 average, Snitker suggested he’d prefer to use Flaherty in a utility role similar to the one the 31-year-old has played in recent seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, according to Burns.
