Dallas Stars executives met with members of Tyler Seguin’s camp this weekend to discuss a contract extension for the star centre, according to Sportsnet’s John Shannon.
The talks come less than a week after Seguin spoke out about the lack of negotiations between the two sides. The 26-year-old is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
“Nothing’s really going on,” Seguin said last week at the BioSteel Camp in Toronto. “It’s been a little disappointing. I thought I’d have some exciting news to talk about at BioSteel Camp, especially this late in the summer. It’s been disappointing. But at the end of the day, I obviously have one year left here. I’m just going to focus on that.”
