Alex Ovechkin joined an exclusive club Saturday when he scored the 700th goal of his career in classic fashion, on a one-timer against the New Jersey Devils.
The Great 8 is now the eighth player to reach the milestone – which is surely not a coincidence. And at age 34, he’s still got plenty of time to catch Wayne Gretzky’s all-time record of 894, if he wants to.
